Redvision’s X-SERIES™ rugged PTZs and VEGA™ housings now have a tough, polycarbonate camera window option.

Redvision’s X-SERIES™ rugged PTZ dome camera range and the VEGA™, rugged camera housings now have a tough, polycarbonate camera window option available. The PTZ and housing are both designed for tough, outdoor surveillance applications, so the new, ultra-tough window is a welcome enhancement.

“Low-light performance is not compromised, and the new polycarbonate window is optically correct, like our standard, toughened glass window,” explained Stephen Lightfoot, Technical Director of Redvision. “The RV30 X-SERIES™ still delivers a sensitivity of 0.35Lux in day/night mode, reducing to 0.05Lux at night with IR illumination switched on. Our tests also found that the 2MP, 1080p X-SERIES™ model, with IR and white light illumination switched on, provides effective images at up to 120 metres, with operators successfully identifying people at up to 40 metres.

“Our Tru-park, silicon wiper removes dirt and water from the PTZ and camera housing’s windows. The windows are scratch-resistant and withstand pro-longed ‘dry’ use with no ill-effects, as well as supporting the existing washer option.”

The X-SERIES™ rugged PTZ cameras and VEGA™ fixed housings are made from tough, die-cast aluminium with an IP67 weather-proof and IK10 impact-rating. The X-SERIES™ comes with a durable powder-coating in black (RAL 9005) or light grey (RAL 7035). The VEGA™ is marine plated before being finished in the light grey. Options for any RAL colour, marine and ultra-marine finishes for coastal and corrosive applications are all available at extra cost.
