X2 COMBAT Shock Test
X2 COMBAT was dropped from a specific height, whilst mounted horizontally to a securing plate (worst-case scenario), then brought to a sudden, abrupt halt. The camera was then examined for any signs of damage, if any. The camera did not suffer any external damage, even when subjected to stresses of close to 300G.
With regards to X2 COMBAT, the tests are carried out to ensure that the camera can withstand great impacts and remain intact throughout the event. In context of surveillance applications, this simulates for example – a vehicle losing control and colliding with a camera pole in a public, town centre environment. It would be important in this case that a surveillance camera remains intact and does not represent a falling-object threat to members of the public.
