Redvision has enhanced its VMS1000™ open platform control system with a comprehensive range of new features. Redvision now offers a Visor Extension option for its VEGA™ 2010 rugged camera housing.

Redvision, the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-performance, rugged CCTV cameras, now offers a Visor Extension for it’s VEGA™ 2010, rugged, camera housing. The Visor Extension, which fits to the housing’s front bezel, then shades the enclosed camera from sunlight and glare, such as in low sun at dawn or dusk. The Visor Extension also has the benefit of reducing rain on the housing’s optical window. Redvision’s X-SERIES™ rugged PTZ dome camera range and the VEGA™, rugged camera housings now have a tough, polycarbonate camera window option available. The PTZ and housing are both designed for tough, outdoor surveillance applications, so the new, ultra-tough window is a welcome enhancement. “Low-light performance is not compromised, and the new polycarbonate window is optically correct, like our standard, toughened glass window,” explained Stephen Lightfoot, Technical Director of Redvision. “The RV30 X-SERIES™ still delivers a sensitivity of 0.35Lux in day/night mode, reducing to 0.05Lux at night with IR illumination switched on. It clearly shows installers how their preferred camera and lens combinations can fit neatly inside. The Redvision VEGA™ 2010 rugged camera housing has a PoE-driven, wiper option.

Redvision has added a PoE-driven, wiper option to its VEGA™ 2010, rugged camera, housing range. The Tru-park, silicon wiper removes dirt and water from the housing’s optically-correct, camera window. When not in use, the wiper is concealed behind the front bezel of the VEGA™. Stephen Lightfoot, technical director at Redvision explains, “Wiper power comes from the PoE-driven, CHAT™ interface board.
